The celebration of fathers and families over Father’s Day Weekend will return for a fourth consecutive year in 2012, with a shift to the weekend schedule, as the Hall of Fame Classic at Doubleday Field will move from Sunday to Saturday, highlighting a new lineup for Cooperstown’s start-of-summer salute to the game’s legends.

The 2012 Hall of Fame Classic will feature six Hall of Famers and more than 20 former major league players at Doubleday Field at 2 p.m. on Saturday, June 16, one day earlier than the event has been played on its traditional Father’s Day Sunday in its first three years. The Cooperstown Game Day Parade will lead-off Saturday’s festivities at 12 noon on Main Street, featuring the game’s participants and dignitaries, and the Classic Hitting Contest will precede the game’s first pitch at 1 p.m.

Other activities featured throughout Father’s Day Weekend at Doubleday Field include a Youth Skills Clinic on Friday afternoon, a roundtable discussion with the participating Hall of Famers on Saturday evening following the Classic, and a family catch on Sunday morning.
